Principal Solicitor
Shahzadi B Mughal
Mrs. Bilqiis Mughal was admitted to the roll of solicitors in 1997. She is a family and immigration law practitioner.
As an immigration practitioner, Mrs. Mughal specialises in Gurkha and human rights appeals. Her strength lies in presenting appeals robustly at the outset, often resulting in a positive outcome either at an early stage or at the hearing.
As a family practitioner, she has been a member of the Family Law Advanced Panel since 2010, specialising in complex children matters, financial settlements, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, with a particular focus on negotiating financial settlements and commercial contracts.
Mrs. Mughal is regularly instructed in family finance matters and other associated applications, from the first appointment through to the final hearing. Her reported cases include SV v AV v UV, where she was instructed by an intervenor to establish the beneficial ownership of multiple properties.
Her other areas of practice also include Wills & Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Consultant Barrister
Zubair Mughal
Mr Mughal was called to the Bar in 2016. He is a specialist family and immigration barrister. He previously worked for the Home Office as a Presenting Officer where he represented the Secretary of State at the First Tier Tribunal (IAC). His clients therefore benefit from having their case prepared "from the perspective of the Home Office".

As a family practitioner, Mr Mughal regularly represents clients in complex Children Act and financial remedy proceedings.

Paralegal
Anup Dhakal
Anup holds two Bachelor’s degrees: a BA in Political Science from Tribhuvan University and a BA LLB from Kathmandu School of Law. He qualified as an Advocate in Nepal and worked in Nepalese firms before pursuing postgraduate study in the UK.
He completed a Master’s in Criminology at Kingston University and is currently finalising his Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy, with his dissertation pending submission.
In the UK, Anup has gained over three years of experience working in legal firms, focusing particularly on Gurkha settlement and immigration cases. His background as both a Nepalese Advocate and UK caseworker provides him with a strong foundation in handling complex immigration matters with diligence and care.

Ashba Shakir
Ashba Shakir is a dedicated legal professional with an LLM in Corporate & Commercial Law from the University of Leicester, following her LLB. Since joining Pine Legal in 2023, she has become an integral part of our team, consistently contributing through thorough legal research and staying up to date with evolving legal trends.
She has a keen interest in international arbitration, corporate law, and intellectual property protection. Her primary focus is on immigration law, where she has hands-on experience, while she also maintains an active interest in family law matters and commercial contracts.
In addition to her legal work, she brings a background in digital marketing and technical support, making her highly versatile in both legal practice and professional administration.

Consultant
Deepak Maskey
​Mr. Deepak Maskey served 18 years with the 7th Gurkha Rifles of the British Army, retiring as a Sergeant in 1994. He fought on the front line during the Falklands War in 1982 and was awarded the South Atlantic Medal with Rosette. In 1993, he became the first Gurkha soldier selected by the 5th Infantry Brigade to lead a small team of British soldiers in Operation Warden in Southern Turkey, earning the Northern Iraq Medal.
After retirement, he worked at the British Embassy in Nepal as the Defence Section Chief Clerk and played a key role in the campaign for equality for veteran Gurkhas. From 2009 to 2014, he led the Gurkha justice campaign and the Satyagraha campaign in the UK, engaging in public awareness initiatives and negotiations with British ministers and MPs.
He now dedicates his experience to supporting veteran Gurkhas and their dependents.
